Tour the Incredible Life of Frederick Douglass – St. Michaels, MD

Visit his birthplace, Frederick Douglass Park and Talbot County Court House where he was imprisoned. Travel to St. Michaels where Frederick Douglass taught Sunday School and secretly taught enslaved people to read. Visit the Mitchell House which provides a glimpse of the lifestyle of the middle-class free African Americans.  Travel to “The Hill”, the oldest, continuously inhabited settlement of freed blacks in the United States. Before returning home, you will visit Bethel UMC and Asbury UMC. Frederick Douglass dedicated both churches in 1778. You will return home with many fond memories of the Eastern Shore and have an appreciation for everything Frederick Douglass accomplished.
