Tour all of the Historic African American Sites – Washington, DC

First, you will be guided through Lincoln’s Cottage, which includes five rooms of the Gothic revival-style building. The cottage itself is sparsely furnished, but the information provided by docents about Lincoln’s ideas, presidency, and private life makes it easy to imagine the iconic leader in these surroundings. Historical prints, photographs, and artifacts help to fill in the blanks.

Next, you will travel to the African American Civil War Museum and Memorial that uses a rich collection of artifacts, documents, primary sources, and technology to create a meaningful learning experience about the period from the American Civil War to Civil Rights and beyond. Then, you will pass by the Martin Luther King’s Memorial that honors his legacy and the struggle for freedom, equality, and justice. You will also have time at Lincoln Park, the largest Capitol Hill Park and features monuments to two of the nation’s greatest leaders, President Abraham Lincoln and Civil Rights Activist and Educator Mary McLeod Bethune.  Lastly, you will tour the legacy of Frederick Douglas that is preserved at Cedar Hill before heading home.

Tour the Niagara Falls underground railroad sites.  Reveal authentic stories of Underground Railroad freedom seekers and abolitionists in Niagara Falls that inspire visitors to recognize modern injustices that stem from slavery and take action toward an equitable society.  Visit the BME Church & St Catharine’s Museum along with a breath-taking Hornblower Boat Ride through Niagara Falls.

Heritage Tour of Baltimore – Baltimore, Maryland

Begin your day with a self-guided tour of the National Great Blacks in Wax Museum.  The Museum highlights the unique history of African Americans such as Thaddeus Stevens, Charles Sumner, and Rosa Parks. Next, you will stop at the Baltimore Inner Harbor where you will have time to enjoy lunch on your own and relax by the waterfront. Before departing for your home you will visit the Reginald F. Lewis Museum. This museum is dedicated to sharing the courageous journey toward freedom and self-determination made by African American Marylanders.

Ocean City MD African American Heritage(3 Days)

Take a journey through Ocean City, Maryland’s African American history.  First, take a trip to the one of a kind Delmarva Museum to explore the rich history and natural world of the Delmarva peninsula.  Next, take a tour of the popular Costen House Museum, home of the first Mayor of Pocomoke City.  While down the shore, you will have time to check out the Ocean Downs Casino, Mar-va Theater & have some time on the Boardwalk.
