Your tour begins on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Journey into Frederick Douglass’ life.
Visit his birthplace, Frederick Douglas Park and Talbot County Court House where he was imprisoned. Travel to St. Michaels where Frederick Douglas taught Sunday School and secretly taught enslaved people to read. Visit the Mitchell House which provides a glimpse of the lifestyle of the middle-class free African Americans. Enjoy lunch at the Crab Claw Restaurant. Travel to “The Hill”, the oldest, continuously inhabited settlement of freed blacks in the United States. Before returning home, you will visit Bethel UMC and Asbury UMC. Frederick Douglass dedicated both churches in 1778. You will return home with many fond memories of the Eastern shore.
